RPM Oval Series Rules

RPM Hobbies is learning and growing the Oval program. Our track is a historic 85′, 8 lane Tri-Oval that has been roaming around Ohio for many many years. For our Sunday Oval Series we will run 2 Classes following the Ohio Oval Series Rules, with some minor modifications. If wanting to race in an official OOS event only minor modifications would be necessary.

Box Stock Indy

RPM Hobbies will follow the Ohio Oval Series basic rules for the Box Stock Indy class.

‣ Base Model: JK “Ready to Run” Indy car part# JK208172W

‣ Alternate Option: Cheetah 21 “Wide-Pan” F1/INDY Chassis.

‣ Must run JK Indy Body, A T Rear body wing support is permitted.

‣ Must run 3/32 Axle, 64Pitch 10/37 Gear and a JK Hawk 7 Motor

‣ No Independent front wheels, axle must rotate in non-soldered floating 3/32 Oil lites.

‣ Rear Oil lites may be soldered in for gear mesh and longevity

‣ Tires must be JK Small Hub – in any rubber compound.

4″ NASCAR

RPM Hobbies will follow the Ohio Oval Series basic rules for the 4″ Nascar class

‣ Base Chassis: Any 4″ Stamped Steel Flexi Type Chassis un-modified and commercially available from your local track or US Distributors.

‣ Tires: Front Tires are optional, if omitted body must display a wheel sticker in their place. Wheels when used must be shown with either a clear body area or cut out area showing 50% of the Wheel. No Minimum Tire Diameter, 1 Pc Axle, 2 Pc Wheel and Hub design, and both wheels must pass thru chassis and Rotate.

‣ Rear Tires: Must use either 3/32 or 1/8 non hollow rear axle. No Minimum Tire Diameter but must be large enough that rear chassis sits minimum 1/16″ above track surface.

‣ Gearing: Any Pitch, Any Gear Ratio

‣ Motors: Several options of motors are allowed – PS4002FK, JK Hawk 7, Mid America Enforcer, or PS Speedball. (PS4002FK & Hawk 7 are Phasing out and not allowed for official OOS races, but may be ran at RPM)

‣ Bodies: For the RPM Sunday Oval series any 4″ Stock Car or COT Style Body is allowed. Must have minimum 1/2″ Rear spoiler height protrusion from bumper. Must be .007 or .010 Thickness, and be commercially available in either clear or painted format.

‣ OOS Recommended bodies:

INDY OUTLAW

Indy Outlaw is a RPM Specific Class after the feedback of the racers and does not follow any OOS Rules

‣ Base Model: JK “Ready to Run” Indy car part# JK208172W

‣ Alternate Option: Cheetah 21 “Wide-Pan” F1/INDY Chassis.

‣ Must run JK Indy Body, A T Rear body wing support is permitted.

‣ Must run 3/32 Axle, Any Motor, Gearing, and Tires are allowed. Car must be able to run 6 Continuous Qualifying laps without de-sloting.

‣ At anytime there are less than 3 Outlaw Indy in competition the race will end after the current heat.
